Summary of Academic Profile:

Sampson Igbokwe is a young and distinguished scholar, researcher and a seasoned lecturer  in the Department of Physics at Kingsley  Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ideato, Imo State and hails from  Obodo Ujichi in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State, Nigeria.

Sampson .c Igbokwe holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in 2012. He equally obtained a master of Science Degree in Geophysics from the same institution in 2017 where he worked on “ Structural and Tectonic interpretation of Nkalagu Environs using Aeromagnetic data” under the supervision of erudite professor M. U. Igbokwe. 

In demonstration of his unquenchable thirst for academic excellence and development; He also acquired a professional diploma in Education (PDE) from the Federal College of Education Obudu Cross Rivers state in 2020. And currently pursuing his PhD IN applied Geophysics at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. He has a deep seated interest in research and character building with 5± years of experience teaching undergraduate courses. An Author and  co- author In physics and related subject matters, a lover of God and a character builder with understanding of the dynamism of the young generation, open minded and a team worker.

Sampson C. Igbokwe research interests spans across Geophysics, condensed matter, ground water and resistivity with special interest in renewal energy  with  substantial publication and having attended  conferences, workshops and Seminars at different levels where  his research works were presented and finding published in different academic journals both international and local journals while contributing to Knowledge.

Sampson C. Igbokwe is a proud member of cognate professional bodies of repute which includes; 

Nigeria Institute of Physics (NIP), 

Physics Writers Association (PWS), 

National Association of Atmospheric and solid Earth Geophysicists (NAASEG) and Rotary club International.

Sampson C. Igbokwe also serves as the departmental ICT officer (DICTO) for Physics Department, KOMU. as well as the Class Adviser for the set 2023-2024 class. He is also the  secretary of  admission sensitization subcommittee where he has shown great zeal, dedication to duty and sound leadership. Mr. Igbokwe’s dedication and efforts has been observed and recognized in different ways and for a. he awarded the best graduating student from the department of Physics, MOUAU SET 2011/2012, he was also recognized as the ambassador of  students by the SUG MOUAU and the most outstanding staff 2019  by department of Physics, FCE, Obudu.

Sampson C. Igbokwe plays an active role in community services as a way of giving back to the society especially through the Rotary club. He also organizes workshops to educate the youths on the negative effects of drug addiction. Organizing extra moral lessons/classes for students who are preparing for o’level examinations and UTME to mention but a few.

Hobbies

Sampson C. Igbokwe spends his free time playing football, volleyball, Tennis game chess and  having interactive discussions.
