Summary of Academic Profile:

Mrs. Rita Chinenye Asianuba is a lecturer in Department of Microbiology at Kingsley Ozumba Madiwe University, Ideato. Imo State. Nigeria. She hails from Ideato North Local Government Area in Imo State.

She holds a B.Tech (Hons) degree in Biotechnology in 2008, Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Environmental Health Biology in 2015 from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, her love for education led her to acquire Post Graduate Diploma in Education from University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State in 2021 and she is currently running her Ph.D. program in Environmental Biotechnology at Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State.

Mrs. Asianuba has interest in Environmental Remediation and Sustainability, Environmental Heath, Bioremediation, Green Nanotechnology and Microbial Biotechnology. She has research publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and an on-going research work in these areas.

She is a member of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN), Association for Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria (AEIAN) and Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World. (OWSD). She was inducted into Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) in 2020 and Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) with General and Proficiency Certificate in Health, Safety and Environment (Level 1- Level 3) in 2016.

As part of her community service, Mrs. Asianuba is a member of several non-governmental organizations and religious organization.  As a Christian of Catholic belief, she is the current secretary of Our Lady of Lourdes group of Catholic Women Organization, a member of Saint Rita’s Pius Society and also a consecrated member of Guild of St Anthony of Padua.

For relaxation and reflection, she enjoys exploring nature, reading newspapers and scientific books as well as watching sports.
