Summary of Academic Profile:

Dr. Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara is a distinguished academic and lecturer in the Department of English/Literary Studies at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ideato, Imo State, Nigeria. She hails from Umuashram Obeakpu in Njaba  Local Government Area in Imo State.

Dr Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Education/ English ( B.ED) from University of Nigeria Nsukka in (2003). She further advanced her education with a master’s degree in English Language from Imo State University, Owerri Imo State in (2009). She later obtained a Diploma in Computer Operation/Desktop Publishing in (2011) from Systemic Computer Centre Alvan Ikoku College of Education Owerri.

She finally obtained an award of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Language from Imo State University, Owerri in (2021)

Dr Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara has a robust academic and research profile, having attended various conferences and workshops where she has presented his work. She has published numerous journals in the field of arts, contributing valuable knowledge and insights to the academic community.

Dr Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara is a full member of (English Language Teachers Association of Nigeria ELTAN) and also a member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.(TRCN)

In addition to her professional memberships, academic and research roles, Dr. Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara serves as the class adviser and Faculty Exam’s Officer at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University. Her leadership and dedication to student development are evident in her ability efforts to enhance the student experience and support academic success.

Dr Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara has received so many awards  for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian services : Man of Order & Discipline Movement of Nigeria ( M.O.D), Young Missionary Movement ( YOMM), Holy Childhood Association (HCA) and others too numerous to mention.

Dr. Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara is actively involved in community service: She was the President Amazano Progressive Union Women Wing Owerri Branch (2008-2012) Re-elected President Amazano Progressive Union Women Wing, Owerri Branch (2016-2020). She has led several community outreach programs focused on mental health awareness and support. She is presently the president of Catholic Women Association of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Obeakpu in Njaba Local Government Area .

In her leisure time, Dr. Mrs Helen Oluchi Opara enjoys teaching, reading and writing . She is also passionate about music hence she likes singing.  Additionally, she enjoys hiking and exploring nature, which she finds to be a great way to relax and reflect
