Summary of Academic Profile:

Dr. Chukwuemeka Ekwuribe teaches  English language and literature in English in the department of English language and literature, at the Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Imo state. He is a native of uturu, in isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State.

Dr. Ekwuribe obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and literature in English from the Abia state University Uturu in 1992. He went to obtain his Masters of Arts Degree in 1998 In literature in English from the  same university . He proceeded to the University of Ibadan for his PH.D Degree which he obtained in 2018. His thesis on xenophobia in selected post- apartheid novels has continued to attract critical comments nationally and internationally.

Dr. Ekwuribe is a committed scholar who has published in local and International Journals on colonial and post- colonial African Literature. He has attended seminar , workshops and public lectures and had presented papers on colonial and post- colonial African Literatures. Ekwuribe has edited academic journas for the faculty of Arts of a number of universities.

Members of Professional Association/ Bodies 

He is a member of Association of  Nigerian Author(ANA) and an ardent member of English Language and Literature students Association of Nigeria. His active contribution in the mentioned bodies is attested to by the numerous commendation letters he has received from the bodies.

Dr. Ekwuribe was the Faculty Examination Officer of the school from 2019-2021. He serves as a member of Examination Moderation Committee, Chairman of the Department’s Ethical Committee. He is currently the acting Head of Department (HOD) of the Department of English Language and literary studies.

In recognition of his devotion to  scholarship, Dr. Ekwuribe has been awarded a good number of certificates of merit. The latest is a commendation letter from management of the school for being the Head of Department (HOD)  to graduate, the first student of the school, Kingsley Ozumba  Mbadiwe University , Imo state. His effective mentorship is crystalized in the numerous commendations(written and Oral) from the Dean’s  office of the Faculty of Arts .

Dr.Ekwuribe Chukwuemeka is actively involved in a number of community Development Projects. He was an active of Abia State community poverty Reduction Programme (ABCPRP) where he served his community as a representative in the programme. He was instrumental to the success of the Electrification and Road Projects in his Community .He is also a member of the Lay-Marist association, a religious order committed to the training of Youths globally.
