Summary of Academic Profile:

Dr. Ndom Daniel Agilebu is a faculty member, Department of Political Science, Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, where he currently serves as the Acting Head of Department.

Dr. Ndom holds a B.Sc. in Government and Public Administration from the Abia State University, Uturu (1999); an M.Sc. Political Science and Administrative Studies (International Relations) - 2007 and a PhD, Political Science and Administrative Studies (Development Studies) - 2016 from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. 

Research Interests:

Dr. Ndom is widely published in learned journals. His areas of research interest include:

  1. Identity Crisis and Underdevelopment in Developing Societies

  2. Sustainable Livelihoods and Development options in LMICs

  3. Political Leadership and Social Transformation in Less Developed Countries -LDCs 

His major contribution to knowledge is in highlighting the nexus between the silent but salient phenomenon of the national identity crisis and the development predicament of the LDCs and the Global South

He is a member of many professional bodies including the Nigeria Political Science Association (NPSA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

Administrative Positions at the University:

Dr. Ndom holds the following administrative positions in the university:

  1. Acting Head of Department, Department of Political Science

  2. Acting Director, Joint Universities Preparatory Examinations Board (JUPEB)

  3. Deputy Director, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)

He has also served in various University Committees, Panels of Enquiry and the University Strategic Planning Committee.

Dr. Ndom graduated as one of the best graduating students in the Department of Government and Public Administration, Abia State University. He is a recipient of many awards from academic bodies including the National Association of the Church of God Seventh Day Students.

As part of his community service to the university community, Dr. Ndom hosts the Quarterly Youth Mentorship Dialogue Series, a flagship campus-based mentorship programme that provides a platform to interrogate issues that affect the wellbeing of students and young people.

He also coordinates the yearly Community Development Service programme of the Department of Political Science, K.O Mbadiwe University, Ideato, Imo State. 

Dr. Ndom, in 2016, founded the Mentorship for Development Foundation, a Non-Profit Organisation committed to the building of capacities and the promotion of positive life values among young people.
