Dr. Michael Obiora is a lecturer in Sociology Department with Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ogboko, Ideato South, Imo State. He hails from Atani, Ogbaru local Government Area, Anambra State.
Dr. Michael Obiora obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology in 1998 from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Master’s degree in Sociology of Development in 2011 from the University of Port Harcourt; Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Safety and Security Management from the University of Ibadan in 2019; and doctorate degree in 2021 in Sociology of Development with a bias in Environmental Sociology from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Dr. Obiora has demonstrated academic versatility and unquestionable commitment to academic excellence.
Dr Obiora has developed over time a highly developed research qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills with a strong capacity to conduct independent research, has Strong ability to develop goals, objectives and implement strategies through research, proven ability to conceptualizes problems and develop well-reasoned and integrated solutions, as demonstrated throughout his research and has working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS).
As a fellow of Institute of Corporate Administration (ICA) and senior member, Portfolio & Debt Management Institute, Nigeria (PDMIN), National Association of Sociology and Anthropology (NASA), Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) Rivers Command, Dr Obiora has be recognized and awarded several times for his community service development effort by several community service development organizations such as Rotary club International, Port Harcourt; Relief International Africa, Association of Voluntary Uniform Youth Organization (AVUYO) among others.
Besides his unsounded academic and research capacity, professional membership and community service development roles, Dr Obiora currently serve as Secretary to his Department (Sociology) Board as well as Departmental Information Communication Technology Officer (DICTO), at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University.
At his leisure time, Dr. Obiora recreates with Scrabble and Chess playing, literatures in Sociology, Anthropology and Security Management, novels for ostensive improvements. He relaxes with music and passionate about football.
