KOMU Journal of Health and Environmental Research (KOJHER) is a multidisciplinary academic, peer-reviewed, and open access publication of Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University(KOMU) Ideato-Imo State. The Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU) is a public university owned by Imo State government. It is officially accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Nigeria. KOJHER publishes high-quality Health and Environmental Research articles two times a year. The journal is open for the academic world and research institutes, academic and professional libraries, graduate students and PhD candidates, academic and non-academic researchers and research teams. Our goal is to provide original, relevant, and timely information from a diversity of sources with immense integrity for the need of local and international scholars. Should your research help us achieve our goal, we shall be glad to have your manuscript. All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind review by the editorial board and other scholars who are noted experts in the appropriate subject area. Manuscripts are welcomed throughout the year but treated as first come, first served. We also welcome the publication of special issues and conference proceedings.
Scope, Focusand Objectives
KOJHER approaches the thematic focus of health and environmental research from interdisciplinary perspectives. Our journal is interested to promote multidisciplinary research in the fields of health and environmental studies. The journal´s aim is to promote the exchange of scientific ideas and to bring together health researchers, scientists, technologist, environmentalists, academics and policymakers. KOJHER provides an international opportunity for research studies that seeks to promote original theoretical and empirical works including review papers in all spheres of health and environmental studies that advance and enhance the understanding of theory and practice. Specifically, the journal will provide the forum:
· For the dissemination of information and discussions on health and environmental issues that result from the findings of research.
· That would encourage, coordinate, as well as facilitate the publication of findings from original research endeavors.
· KOJHER would act as a public voice for researchers and scholars in the field of health and environmental studies alike; offering contributors the arena that enables unrestricting responses.
Guidelines for Contributors
Manuscripts must conform to the following guidelines or otherwise such manuscripts may not be processed:
· Manuscripts should be typed in English along with an abstract of about 200 words. The abstract should spell out the aim of the paper and the summary of the work with not more than 5 keywords
· Manuscripts should bear a separate page for the title of the paper, name(s) and biographical information of the contributor(s) including their email addresses, name(s) and physical addresses of the institutions of affiliation.
· Length of paper including tables, diagrams, illustrations etc should be between 4000 and 8000 words
· Manuscripts should be original and unpublished. We don’t encourage articles that is just copied and pasted from different websites, books or journals and assembled together.
· All submissions to this journal will be property of the KOJHER. Copyright resides with Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University(KOMU) Nigeria.
· All articles must be in MS Words inTimes New Roman with front size 12
· Short communication to review articles, book reviews, reports of conferences, summary or views of government reports are published as space permit
· All non-English words should be in italics
· The language has to be properly checked. We prefer authors to use UK English.
· All pages must be numbered appropriately. Footnotes and endnotes can be used where possible.
· It’s necessary to provide references in the body of text.
· Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the figures, quotations and references
· Bibliographical references should be arranged in alphabetically and should be given at the end of the text.
· Authors must be informed that double submission is illegal where an article is submitted to two publishing journals at the same time.
Manuscript Review Process
All articles will be submitted to referees. The consulting editors/referees will have documented expertise in the area the article addresses. When reviews are received, an editorial decision will be reached to either not accept the article, accept the article without revision, accept the article with revision not requiring reconsideration by referee, accept the article with revision requiring reconsideration by referee or accept as short report. The decision of Editorial Board is final.
Page Charges
KOMU Journal of Health and Environmental Research (KOJHER) is a no page fees journal outfit. However, authors of accepted paper or article shall attract a processing charge which is aimed to assist the management to keep the journal running. Given that this is a no page fees journal, authors of accepted papers are required to stick to a specific number of pages per article not exceeding 15 pages.
